The key steps

La Collective was dreamt more than 10 years ago by the association F-information. The project then developed with the Réseau femmes* associations and took shape in 2022 under the leadership of the Foundation for Gender Equality (FEG).

2010 – 2022

The dream of a ‘women’s house’ was born among the members of the F-informati.on team. The project was then developed within the Réseau Femmes*

2022

The Foundation for Gender Equality (FEG) was established to acquire the building.

2022 – 2023

The project is being fine-tuned in co-creation with the associations of the Réseau femmes*. Workshops have been organised to define the name of the place, its vision, its governance…

2023 – 2024

The premises are temporarily open to the public and are used for the associations’ activities (general meetings, French courses, Espace Santé Femmes*, job coaching, self-defence courses, etc.). In 18 months, La Collective has hosted 11 art exhibitions, thematic exhibitions and many events on gender equality. More than 5,500 people and 35 organisations used the space during this period.

October 2024

The building closes its doors and begins its transformation. Renovations will take 2 years to create the long-awaited meeting place and laboratory for social innovation.

End of 2026

The Collective will reopen its doors as a vibrant space 7 days a week, welcoming a wide range of people to events open to all, and offering a variety of services for women and gender minorities.
